A new vacancy has arisen for an Assistant Regional Underwriter to join the Bristol office of a well established UK general insurer. You will provide support to the profitable development of regional commercial business by providing service and administrative assistance to the regional underwriting team. This will include supporting the development of the company’s commercial account dealing with new and existing relationships with regional brokers. You will maintain and endeavour to exceed agreed service levels to both internal and external customers. You will participate in and undertake any ad-hoc tasks that may be requested to ensure the smooth running of the regional office. This role will support the Senior Underwriters and offer career progression within the commercial underwriting field towards a senior technical underwriting role within the company.
Skills (Years Experience) :
Applicants applying for this vacancy will have previous underwriting experience within commercial lines and some broker contacts within the region. You will possess a good understanding of general insurance underwriting principles coupled with a solid office experience. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to work effectively with customers and on your own. You will ideally be working towards the professional Insurance qualifications. Good problem solving skills, the experience to prioritise work and meet specified deadlines are essential.
